  • Colleen will have block of the month quilt instructions for members to make in your own choice of fabric/colors. Maybe this will be a stash-buster.

  • Don't forget show and tell. Let's see what you have been working on.

Iowa Quilt Boggers - Part 7

Jean's Page http://www.quiltinjeanie.blogspot.com/ is a blog from a
Council Bluffs quilter and quilt teacher. Check out her homework
assignments, the English paper piecing flower quilt blocks she is making
and watch the quilt as it grows fast.

Quilts and a Mug is another Iowa quilter blogger from northern Iowa.
She has been blogging for two years and is celebrating with two
super giveaway gift packages. Leave a comment by Sunday to be in the
drawing. I am impressed with the 153 followers she has.
Also look at the right hand side of the blog to see some other quilt blogs
she is following. http://www.quiltsandamug.blogspot.com/

I am still learning more about blogging and having fun. I know
it is cutting into my sewing time, but reading other blogs and seeing
quilts is educational and inspiring.

Coming up in February, I am showing the quilts we have made for
the Quilts of Valor to the area's veterans at the American Legion on
Wednesday the 9th at their soup supper and meeting. Anyone is welcome
to attend.

Next quilt meeting is Feb. 14 at 7:00 pm. Come early if you want to sew.
Don't forget show and tell. The Quilts of Valor from the Red, White and Blue
Teams will be there. Pat C. is collecting pillowcases. See you (weather permitting)!!!

Iowa Quilt Bloggers- Part. 6

When it is snowing and blowing outside, my computer keeps me entertained because I am reading quilt stories and enjoying quilt pictures on several quiling blogs.

Do you know your favorite (and mine) fabric and pattern designer from Iowa has a blog?

That would be Sandy Gervais from Algona, Iowa who was discovered by Moda in 1994.
Her blog often has previews of her up coming fabric line.
Check out her blog right now as she is participating in a blog hop that Moda is sponsoring. There are prizes!! One blog site (designer/designers) are highlighted each day with 20 participants. Join in the fun at http://piecesofmyheart-sgervais.blogspot.com
Sandy's pattens are available at http://www.piecesofmyheart.net/

Keep warm. Keep upright. Keep quilting.

Iowa Quilt Bloggers - Part 5

Heidi Kaisand works for American Quilting Systems and travels for work.
She has a busy husband, one young son and twin daughters.
Life in the fast lane, but still has time to quilt.
Amazing! I appreciate her sense of humor and the photos she posts.
Check out her blog at www.blog.heidikaisand.com
and her etsy store (link from blog)

Iowa Quilt Bloggers - Part 4

Adel Quilting and Dry Goods Co. located in Adel, Iowa has frequent blog entries showing what is new in the store and pictures of customer's quilts. Check them out at
http://www.adelquilting.blogspot.com/

I have only been in the store once, but liked their fabric and quilt samples.
Reading their blogs makes me want to schedule a visit soon.
